Lighthouse Museum

The Watch Hill Lighthouse Museum, maintained by dedicated keepers and volunteers, welcomes visitors to explore the captivating history and stunning views of our coastal village.

The Museum houses the original Fourth Order Fresnel Lens that was removed from the Tower following automation of the Light in 1986. The Museum collection also features historical documents, photographs, and paintings that illustrate various views of the buildings and some of the operations of the lighthouse keepers. Highlights include records of notable local shipwrecks, photographs of the 1938 hurricane, and images of sailing vessels that navigated the waters around Watch Hill in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The Watch Hill Lighthouse participates in the Lighthouse Passport Program run by the U.S. Lighthouse Society. Passports are available for purchase in the Museum for $10.00, and stamps may be added for free.
